My Life at The Ohio State University
Nafeesa F. shares her experience at The Ohio State UniversityQ :- Please tell us about which course is you doing and why did you choose that course?
A :- MBA Course because I wanted a faster career progression. More like a leap and MBA would provide me that.
Q :- Why did you choose the USA for higher education?
A :- USA business schools have global perspective and are among top b-schools around the world. USA would be a good place to start international exposure too as there are little barriers compared to other countries for education.
Q :- How is The Ohio State University different than any other USA University based on whatever you have heard from your friends about?
A :- There is less of cut-throat competition that is predominant is top b-schools. It has a small class size and excellent support from admissions office and career management office.
Q :- Are you happy with your decision?
A :- I’m pretty content with it.
Q :- What’s your advice to students who aspire to go to the USA for higher studies?
A :- USA is an open economy. If you are looking for international exposure, start from here. Indians are technically very sound. So, if one is looking for future in a technology area, you will succeed here.
Q :- Other than academics, what else did you learn from the country USA ?
A :- I stay in Columbus, which has a very friendly environment. People are welcoming. Try to work along with the domestic students and it will be a great learning.
Q :- Is it worth spending so much money to get a degree from the USA as compared to similar degree in India with lower costs?
A :- MBA from India from IIM’s and ISB is very valuable. So, while choosing between IIM and an US school, consider relative benefits over high costs. Unless your career focus is international business, sustainability and brand management, Indian MBA is equally good.
Q :- What’s your advice to parents of aspiring students?
A :- Not all schools in USA are great. While financing your ward, consider the ranking of the school vs. finances. Well-known world-renowned schools are a must go. But, for other little less known colleges, check for relative benefit in studying in US compared to India.
Q :- Key things to remember for parents and students while planning for the studies in the USA
A :- Rankings matter. So, do check overall and individual divisional rankings. Study in a school or area that is friendly to internationals and Indians. USA is expensive economy when you are converting your rupee to dollar to survive. So, look for funding.
Q :- What are your future plans?
A :- Strategy or financial consulting industry
Q :- How did you fund your higher education?
A :- Partly through scholarship and the remaining through loan.

A :- Credila takes personal interest in students. They are very inviting and helpful compared to other banks. The interest rates are low and they are ready to finance higher amounts.
