Change at the top of Duke CE
Kim Taylor-Thompson is to step down as chief executive of Duke Corporate Education, the corporate education arm of the North Carolina university. She will be replaced by Mike Canning, currently executive vice president for client relations, who like Ms Taylor-Thompson is trained as a lawyer. Mr Canning will take up his new job on July 1.“I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to take on this new role,” says Mr Canning. “What is remarkable about Duke CE is that we are a relatively small organisation founded on and driven by big ideas and bold aspirations. This is one of the reasons we have always had incredible global reach and impact.”
In addition, Gil McWilliam, who joined Duke CE in 2001, and has a particular focus on the Middle East will become executive vice president for strategy and capabilities. Ms McWilliam, who is British, holds a PhD in consumer behaviour from Cranfield Business School, an MBA from Manchester Business School and masters and undergraduate degrees in Soviet Politics, Russian and French.
Duke CE is consistently ranked as the top global provider of corporate education.
Ms Taylor-Thompson is returning to her former position as a New York University law professor.
