IIPM: CEEMAN ends membership
The controversial Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) is no longer a member of the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN).Almost simultaneously, the “European division of the IIPM,” the International Management Institute (IMI) in Brussels, lost its membership with the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) in Brussels.
As MBA Channel has repeatedly reported in the past, the IIPM is among the most controversial business schools in India. Even more astonishing is the fact that the school had been a member of CEEMAN since 2006. Active worldwide, the organization is dedicated to the quality improvement of management education and has even developed its own accreditation - the International Quality Accreditation (IQA). "IIPM is not a CEEMAN member anymore and we informed them officially," wrote CEEMAN back in June. This however hasn't stopped the IIPM from continuing to present on its website an old article about its CEEMAN membership. Upon inquiry, the school did not respond.
A membership has also been revoked from the IMI in Brussels, which IIPM partner school Buckingham University labels the "European division of the IIPM." As of recent, the school, whose degrees are not recognized in Belgium, is no longer a member of the EFMD. The reference to the membership on the website has already disappeared.
